We prepare regional newsrooms
for the golden age of journalism.
Regional news is in decline. Newsrooms are being closed, coverage areas reduced. This is good news for populists: They are no longer held accountable by anyone.
People want to know what's happening on their doorstep. With BeatSquares, well-researched journalism reaches everyone: From TikTok teenagers to print pensioners.
BeatSquares finds out what people in your region care about. It aggregates coverage of those topics in new ways and reaches people in their preferred format.
Your stories are more than just text.
Whether you're a professional, student or active pensioner: Anyone who travels a lot needs regular updates about their surroundings. BeatSquares analyses all articles from our media partners for relevant information and automatically creates daily podcast updates on various topics. In this way, the news from the paper also reaches people in the region on outlets such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Only a tiny proportion of those under 45 read a regional daily newspaper. As a result, many feel excluded from local political issues. To give them the opportunity to become part of the discourse, BeatSquares regularly produces newsletters on relevant local political issues. This ensures that the information researched by journalists reaches everyone.
Sometimes local news can just be fun. BeatSquares turns articles about food, events, curiosities and more into little online games that get people excited about their own surroundings. The archives of our media partners provide the perfect information base to get to know your region better and have fun at the same time.
How a single piece of research can be transformed into a variety of formats.
BeatSquares analyses every article from our media partners on more than 400 characteristics. This allows us to understand exactly which components are likely to be of interest to which audience.
To ensure that accepted content is accurate and suitable for further processing, up to eight levels of validation and verification are applied.
In a multi-stage process, the best content is selected for each content format, checked for timeliness and the new format is automatically delivered to our media partners.
